TTI Enterprises Network Design, Maintenance and Security

Network Design and Installation

Are you experiencing Networking problems? We will thoroughly investigate your current situation, then design and implement a network solution that will meet your needs and allow for growth and expansion. High quality performance, bandwidth availability, expandability and cost effectiveness are always the major keys in our implementation and design of your custom IT solution.

A Network links multiple computers together to share information, files, printers, scanners, drives, etc.. (devices and data). The reasons for creating a network are vast. For example:

Accounting departments can handle all billing and accounting data, while a manager may only want to see balances. Through linking the computers together, the manager can now access the same information (data) and view only the end results (balances), while the accounting department is involved with billing, capturing and sending of invoices etc...

Instead of your company newsletter being printed and sent to each employee, employees can log into an internal company website and read the newsletters on the screen, saving paper. This method also makes the information available faster, and accessible over a much longer period of time, as they can be archived.

Networking can be provided Locally (LAN = Local Area Network) within a single venue or company, or Wider (WAN = Wide Area Network), between different branches located at various physical sites. A WAN may also be applied between a service provider and their customers and clients. Anywhere where the sharing of data is useful or important, a network can be used to reap benefits of the fast transfer of data. Size, locations, number of devices, etc. are all variable. However, wherever computers are linked, security must be maintained to ensure valid access.

Network Management

We offer both an on site and remote network management service. This entails checking and monitoring that your network is functioning correctly, that no data is being lost or destroyed, and that the transfer of data between machines is functioning at optimum performance levels. We will advise you when changes or upgrades to the current network are required, based on usage, amount of data being transferred, or other growth factors within your business. We will monitor for devices that become problematic to the transfer of data, causing it to slow down or at worst, stop, and help you minimize downtime and maximize performance.

Server Management

Most networks have at least one server. A server is a computer that (a) controls security and access to other devices or the network, (b) holds common data that is shared by many users, (c) provides a common access point whereby users can be directed to another part of a network. A server may perform any combination, or all three of these functions, or even others. We offer a server management service (remote and on site), whereby we will backup your server's data (backup = save and store all the server data outside the machine), or backup the entire machine.

Should the machine break or crash, then the data can quickly and easily be saved onto the new server, and all users will quickly be back working again. We will maintain the server to ensure that it is running at peak performance, so that user access is accomplished with minimal interference. This entails cleaning out old information, and reporting on the usage of the server. We will ensure that the server is kept up-to-date, and that all the software is set to work with all other software at optimum capacity, including validation of the current status of the software in use. There is no point in keeping outdated software that doesn't meet your needs, when there is current software available to meet all your needs.

A form of server management is Web Hosting. Web Hosting means that we "rent" out disk space on one of our machines or servers to others, in order to hold their data, which can be accessed by whoever they choose. Alternatively, we may rent desktop space, and a physical room in which our clients can place their own server, which we manage for them. Web Hosting specifically implies that we hold data (on our machine or yours) that is accessed from our site by people via the means of the Internet (a public network). The data is presented by means of web pages using web or html logic and principles.

Workstation Management

We offer individual computer management, which entails seeing that the computer is kept clean and modern in terms of software and operating system being used. This ensures that computers perform at peak performance level. This service must be performed on site, and would typically be packaged with Server and Network management as a norm to provide an all-encompassing management solution to all aspects of your network.

All these ABOVE functions are performed by a Network Administrator. If needed, we can provide Network Administrator functions as an additional service.

Network Security

We cover every aspect of your network security, particularly on WAN or public links (e.g. Internet). Whenever a network (WAN or LAN) is connected to, or via a public network (Internet = Inter-Connected Networks), then security on the fact that data being transferred is received by the valid recipient is vital! With the increase of viruses, trojans and worms (all forms of malicious code designed to invade the privacy of data transfers), security is becoming an increasingly important issue.

Network Security Services may entail either a once off, or periodic investigation and evaluation task. We can even "purposefully" attempt to break into your system to find any weaknesses so as to close any open cracks that may exist into your systems or network.

Overall Computer and Network Security

Security is frequently a severely overlooked issue. We offer a complete third party outside review of your company's computer security principles. One of most overlooked aspects of security is that of human security. Most focus on using equipment to protect the network, and security doors to prevent or control access, but often overlook the security of IT staff. Let us identify your risks and minimize them.

There are obvious common security procedures that should be in place on your computer network, e.g. the rotation of passwords, etc. Many companies simply buy computers, and want them linked in order to work. Security is frequently the last thing on anyone's mind! But you can prevent the shock of finding yourself hacked, sued, or finding your "secret" information stolen, or worse!

We will investigate and propose the proper security solution for your network.
